Trinity College

Description:

Located at Trinity College’s latest campus at Roseworthy, a series of Kaurna cultural markers express themselves as enduring artworks with numerous educational and cultural learning opportunities becoming visible as students explore, discover and interpret them in play-spaces, circulation spaces and outdoor learning areas across the campus.

Major artworks reference Kaurna Ancestors, Kadlitpina (Father of the Dingo) and his wife, Wauwi (Female Grey Kangaroo) standing proudly out the front of the new campus with parts of their story and parts of their Country - Kaurna Country on display.

A number of minor artworks are also located across the campus. These include giant Pilyapilya (Butterfly) wings that reference the Australian Painted Lady (Vanessa kershawi) Butterfly flying across the Kaurna landscape. The butterfly is a symbol of growth, transformation and being free spirited. The artwork is a photo opportunity for people to engage with. Other minor artworks include stone boulder carvings of cultural icons of the area.
