Located at Lot 14 on North Terrace, Adelaide/Tarntanya, the Tarrkarri (meaning ‘the future’ in the Kaurna language) Centre for First Nations Cultures proposes to be a place that connects Country, culture and people. Mantirri Design was engaged as part of the lead landscape design team with Oculus landscape architects from Melbourne and working alongside the lead architects, Woods Bagot of Adelaide and Diller Scofidio + Renfro from New York.

This major project, will be the cultural heart of Lot Fourteen and be internationally recognised as an iconic place of belonging, healing, reconciliation and pride for the people of South Australia and will help drive interstate and international tourism to Adelaide as a unique major cultural destination.

It will showcase an understanding of Country and a contemporary expression through education, performance, language, visual arts and collections; with the use of modern and innovative technologies.
