Marion Railway Station

Description:

Wrapped around the open underpass walls of the Marion Railway Station in the form of Hardenbergia violacea, Native sarsaparilla vines germinated by rain, are a series of artworks representing artworks by local junior and senior school students, emerging and professional artists and images of historical, present and futuristic local culture, landscapes and architecture.

Since this rail corridor was the first to be electrified. The landscape design for the station needed to be in accordance with strict regulations. The plant palette of around 900 native plants were used to adorn the entry and exit stair and ramps on each side of the station and reframe from encroaching into the corridor envelope.
